French For All

CinéSchool uses three online tools to offer teachers and students a rich, interactive learning experience: FestivalScope for online film viewing, Genially for self-correcting comprehension activities, and Padlet for post-screening discussions. Together, these tools help students engage with French-language films before, during, and after the viewing experience.

FestivalScope

FestivalScope is the streaming platform used by CinéSchool to give teachers and students access to the films selected for the program. Films are available online and can be watched from a computer, tablet, or smartphone. Access is by invitation only and is reserved for registered teachers and their students.
Once registered for a film, the teacher receives an invitation email from FestivalScope. This invitation allows the teacher to create an account on the platform by entering their name and choosing a password.
Students do not need to create their own accounts. They use their teacher’s FestivalScope login information to watch the film at home during the scheduled viewing dates.
The platform is easy to use and does not include advertising outside of the program. For student instructions, please see: For students, a step-by-step guide to watch the film.

Padlet

Padlet Padlet is an interactive platform that allows students to share their thoughts after watching a film. After the screening, students are invited to post their reactions on Padlet through short videos, audio recordings, or written messages. When possible, they may also submit questions for the filmmakers. Padlet creates a space for exchange and reflection where students can express their opinions, practice French, and take part in the wider CinéSchool learning community.
Each Padlet page is dedicated to a specific film and is accessible only to teachers and students participating in CinéSchool. The pages are private and moderated. Every post is reviewed and approved before it becomes visible.

Genially

Genially is an online tool used to create interactive, self-correcting activities that help students deepen their understanding of each film. Through Genially, students can complete quizzes, comprehension exercises, short reflection activities, and interactive games connected to the films they watch. These activities allow students to check their understanding, review key vocabulary, and engage with the story, characters, and themes in a fun and active way.
Genially strengthens the educational pathway offered by CinéSchool and gives teachers an additional tool to support language learning after the screening.

A Complete Digital Learning Experience

Thanks to FestivalScope, Padlet, and Genially, teachers can offer students a complete film-based learning experience. Students discover French-language and Francophone films, develop listening comprehension, reflect on cultural themes, and express their ideas in French through interactive activities. These digital tools support language learning, critical thinking, creativity, and active participation.

Access to FestivalScope, Genially, and Padlet is reserved for teachers registered for CinéSchool and their students.
