U.S. Tour exploring Eliane Radigue’s works

Blank Forms will present a program that will reassess the span of Eliane Radigue’s oeuvre by engaging her early and largely unknown tape pieces in direct encounter with recent acoustic compositions. Played by Rhodri Davies, Robin Hayward, Charles Curtis and Dafne Vicente-Sandoval, concerts will include New York, San Francisco, Philadelphia and San Diego.

Performances and master classes by American composers

Columbia Global Center in Paris has invited young American composers Zosha di Castri, Keith Moore, Wang Lu and Ramin Arjomand to perform works that have rarely been presented in France.

Ensemble C Barré, through a partnership with Ithaca College, NY, is enriching its repertoire by commissioning three new pieces exploring timbre and color. Readings and workshops will be given to students in France and the U.S.

U.S. Tour of Walking in Beauty by Thierry Pécou

Inspired by Navajo sacred stories and traditions, Thierry Pécou worked with Laura Tohe (Native American poet) for this new project. Performances and master classes of ensemble Variances will include the Detroit Institute of Art, and the University of Cleveland.

Residency program – Académie Voix Nouvelles

Including Annie Hui-Hsieh, Alex Stephenson, Matthew Chamberlain, Tonia Ko and more Académie Voix Nouvelles is a program that gives young composers and interpreters the opportunity to create, work and perform together. Supervisors of this year’s program include Philippe Hurel, Alberto Posadas, and Maura Lanza.

GMEA Albi – Centre National de Création Musicale d’Albi (Albi, France) Commission to Catherine Lamb for Ensemble Dedalus

GMEA Albi and its ensemble Dedalus have commissioned American composer Catherine Lamb for a new creative project entitled “Prisma Interius.” The premiere of the piece will be presented in Albi in October 2018.

Commission to Raphaèle Biston

Musiqa will commission Raphaèle Biston for a new project, a piece for nine musicians based on natural sounds, evolving to mechanical and artificial situations. Performances will be organized in the Greater Houston area in May 2019.

Including Winnie Huang, Joshua Hyde, Julia Robert, Gwen Rouger, Benjamin Soister and Paolo Vignaroli Qubit, a New York music collective, invited French group Sound Initiative to collaborate on a new creation combining instrumental craft with a performative response to the architecture of their own venues, in New York and Paris.

Trio SR9 (Lyon, France)
U.S. Residency and Tour

Young musicians from Trio SR9 will create new works during a one-week residency at New York’s Lycée Français, and perform a body percussion piece with hundreds of students. Following the residency, performances will be given in Westchester and Philadelphia.
