Unifrance

UniFrance is the organisation in charge of promoting French cinema throughout the world. Created in 1949, in the form of an association under the law of 1901, UniFrance is administered by French state authorities, in particular the CNC. The association has nearly 1000 members: producers of feature films and shorts, exporters, sales agents, directors, actors, authors (screenwriters) and talent agents.

Institut français

The Institut français is in charge of implementing France’s cultural action abroad and was set up in 2010. Under the supervision of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, its role is to act as the conduit for a new, more ambitious “diplomacy of influence”, within the framework of French governmental policies and priorities. It helps to promote French influence abroad through greater dialogue with foreign cultures, while responding to the needs of France via a policy of listening, partnership and openness to other cultures.

Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée (CNC)

Created in 1946, the Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée (CNC) is a public administrative organization, set up as a separate and financially independent entity which comes under the authority of the French ministry of culture and communication. Its principal missions are regulatory; support for the film, broadcast, video, multimedia and technical industries; promotion of film and television for distribution to all audiences and preservation and development of the film heritage.
