We are pleased to invite you to apply for a $4,000 grant from the French Dual Language Fund that will support your school in hosting one or more French Teaching Interns who will train alongside your teachers in French dual language and immersion classes.
Please note the French Dual Language Fund awards only one grant per school, per academic year.
Teaching Interns are native French speakers recruited by the Embassy in collaboration with the France Education International (formerly CIEP), a joint agency of the French Ministry of Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Please note that while there are a number of agencies in the U.S. that facilitate French Teaching Interns, only interns coming from France Education International will be considered.
Interns are typically graduate-level students in the process of completing a Masters program, or recent graduates in other teacher training programs.
— Be teachers, PTO, PTA or administrators at a U.S. public school, OR district administrators OR state-level administrators affiliated with a French dual language or immersion program. Note: French curriculum schools (établissements homologués) are not eligible to apply for this grant.
— Work for a school, district or state Department of Education which has a French dual language or immersion program that has been in operation for 2 or more years, and that will serve 30 or more students in the 2018-2019 academic year.
— Demonstrate that French is used in at least 20% of instruction within the French dual language or immersion program
— Applicants who have received a grant for the previous grant cycle must have completed and submitted the final grant report to be eligible to the current cycle. Complete the grant report here.
The selection will be need-based, focused on the ability of the school to accommodate the French Teaching Intern in a positive environment. Please note that only schools welcoming a teaching intern through the France Education International (formerly CIEP) program are eligible for the grant.
